SHORT ITINERARY

Day 0, Arrival in Lombok – Pick up service, followed by transfer to your pre-hike aaccommodation at Senaru Village.

DETAIL ITINERARY

Day 01, Mount Rinjani National Park Office (Sembalun) to Sembalun crater rim (2,639 m)

Distance: 9 km
Difficulty: Moderate

Highest point: 2,639 m ( Sembalun crater rim)
Height gain: +1,539 m

Walk duration: 6-7 hours

 

You will begin your adventure on the first day with 6-7 hours walk up to Sembalun Crater Rim (The campsite). There are 4 posts in between for you to take short breaks. Once you have reached the campsite, you will see a magnificent view of Segara Anak lake and its special blue water surrounding.  And you will be able to watch a colorful sunset

from your tent.

At 7:00 Am, and after having a breakfast at your hostel, the driver will pick you up and you will head to the entrance of the National Park Sembalun, 45 minutes from your hostel. Once arriving Sembalun village. You need to get a medical check and then sign in at the geopark office before heading to the official starting point.

Starting Point to Position 1:  The path starts from the official starting point in the village of sembalun to pos 1 relatively flat, with little elevation through rainforest then a gentle ascent through open grassland. 3.7 km, It takes you 1.5 hours to reach pos 1.

From position 1 to position 2: 1.4 km, the treks relatively flat through savanna, there are no trees or shade so prepare your sunscreen since it would be hot and humid. It takes you 30 minutes to reach position 2. After reaching Pos 2, you will make it to the stop for lunch. Amidst the savannah, the break takes 40 minutes for lunch, and you will continue to the next position

From position 2 to position 3: There are 1.7 km, and the hike starts to get more demanding and steeper and enters light forest cover. It takes you 35 minutes to reach position 3.

From position 3 to position 4: 850 m, the path begins to change after Pos 3, it gets steeper than before. The inclination of the uphill around 25 degrees with more trees and less grass. It takes you 1 hour to reach position 4. Because you will put a slow step as the trail got steeper.

From position 4 to the Crater Rim: there are 1.4 km, lay the most difficult part and the hike even get more steeper and slippery with soft and loose earth, lots of big steps. It takes you 2 hours to reach the crater rim. After reaching the crater rim, you will make it to the stop for camping.

Night hike to Rinjani Summit (3726 m)

3.3 km, 3 hours walk up to the summit.  Woke up at 2:00 am, to have a light breakfast and head to Rinjani Summit. The ascent starts off fairly easily but soon gets steeper and sandy. This first part lasts around 1 hour. The second part gets flat for another half an hour, however it gets chilly as you are over 3000 altitude. The final part of the ascent is totally challenging, the inclination of the path is around 50 degrees with loose gravel and sandy. for every step taken, you’ll return half. Hence what makes the attack to the summit very tough.

 

Reaching Mount Rinjani Summit

 

From this spot you will be able to watch an epic sunrise and a magnificent view as well as the whole Lombok Island and neighbouring Sumbawa Islands. After spending about 20 minutes at summit then walk down to the campsite, it takes you 2 hours return to the campsite.

 

Sembalun crater rim to Segara Anak lake

Distance: 3.9 km
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Highest point: 2,639 m ( Sembalun crater rim)
Height gain: -639 m

 

After arriving at the campsite from the summit, have a brunch then begin descending to Segara Anak Lake,3 hours walking down the downhill. The trail is rocky adjacent for 1.5 hours then the path starts change relatively flat and enters light forest cover for the last 1.5 hours.

Once reaching the Lake, you will make a stop for lunch on the lakeside. after having lunch heading to Hot Spring 5 minutes from the lake, soak your body and recover your energy before starting to climb down the Second Crater Rim.

 

Segara Anak lake to Provok Camping Area

Distance: 3.3km
Difficulty Level: Moderate

Highest point: 2,000 m (Segara Anak Lake)
Height gain: -600 m

Walk duration: 3 hours

 

The descent starts downhill with soft and loose earth enters light forest cover. It will takes you 3 hours to reach the second campsite known as Provok Campsie. After 3 hours walking down you will make it to the stop for camping at the campsite amidst the mountain range and green valley.

Difficulty: Moderate

Highest point: 1,400 m (Provok Camping Area)
Height gain: -815 m

Walk duration: 7 hours

 

\Wake up early to hear the sing of the birds, have a breakfast then begin descending to Torean Village, 5-6 hours. The path starts with short ascending then gradually path down a cliff, surrounded by mountain looks like Jurassic Park and pass by huge waterfall. After about 1 hour of going down you will enter a jungle until you will make it to the stop for lunch. After having lunch continue walking down to the ending point for 3 hours through thick rainforest. The driver will pick you up and you will head to our office. The trek finish, pick the rest of your luggage, change the car and drop off to your next destination.
